These are pictures of Baby M's place in our apartment. Terribly exciting, I know! We'll likely move things around, as right now they're a tad cramped. But we've got things set up and assembled now, which is a start.

Finally, all of the baby room preparation is finished! We've been washing and painting and putting things away for several weeks now, and this is the result.

An overall view of the baby's corner. The afghan on the glider is the one I crocheted a few weeks ago. It's made of the softest, cuddliest yarn. I love it! And I know it's kind of ugly, but I had to fold the ends of the crib bumper out. I just couldn't see having the bumper go all the way around. It seemed like it would be trapping the baby in the crib. That's just the paranoid me coming out, I think. Besides, this way I get to stare at the cute little giraffe all night.

More of the crib. Playing the part of the baby is a large purple rhinocerous.

This is a shelving unit we usurped from the living room and repainted. I'm noticing now that the hooks above it aren't quite centered over the unit. Must fix that.

A closeup of the hooks above the shelf. I tried my hand at drawing the animals from the bedding. They turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself!

The changing table/temporary baby dresser, fully stocked with diapers and clothes of all sorts. The diaper bag is sitting on top there.

Today we finally assembled the crib and got the baby's "room" on its way to being put together. OK, so it was really Jason who put the crib together. But I cleaned while he did that! I even vacuumed! We still don't have any sheets or a mattress pad or a changing pad, but those will come in time. This is a start!
The crib, which Jason's brother Adam and his wife Tracy generously loaned to us.

The glider we bought a few weeks ago. It is sooooooo soft and comfy to sit in!

The changing table, sans changing pad. Shannon and Tom loaned it to us, since they had two. This is in the hall/landing upstairs. There was no way it was fitting in our room. This will also serve as baby's dresser until we have room to actually put a baby dresser someplace.
