Hose

Drinking

The other afternoon Gavin played with the hose after I watered the flowers out front. I actually weeded the entire front landscaping, something I've had no interest in all summer. And no energy for either. But the jungle-esque nature of the front yard finally got to me, and with the smidgeon of energy I had to spare for the week, I weeded.

Why so little energy, you might ask? Well, since you asked, I suppose I should tell you that Gavin's going to be a big brother. The little sib will arrive sometime in late-ish January. Surprise!

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll say that I had a visit with the OB -- a different one from last time, but not the one I'm staying with -- on Tuesday and all is well. Baby's heartbeat was 160. I've been feeling fluttery movements for a week or more, so I was pretty sure everything was all right, but it was such a big relief when the nurse finally located the little pitter-patter in my belly.

Next week we meet with the midwives again, the ones who will actually be at the birth of our baby. We'll continue to see an OB, but we'll have to switch to the one who does backup for our midwives. I'm not thrilled about it, as this doc is a half hour drive from our house. But that's the one we have to go to if we want OB backup.

A little Gavin funny from tonight. I have a headache and after getting Gavin ready for bed, I headed downstairs for a couple of Tylenol while Jason took over to help him fall asleep. Gavin asked for me and Jason told him I went to get some tylenol for my headache. Naturally, Gavin wanted some. He was told no he didn't have a headache so he didn't need it. A minute later, Gavin said, "Gavin have headache. Gavin need tylenol. Uh-huh, uh-huh, headache."
