blues brothers
In my last post I didn't mean to make it sound like Gavin was the worst baby ever. He wasn't some devil child by any stretch of the imagination. We had a difficult time with him to be sure, breastfeeding and sleeping and so on were challenging. But he was, and is, a joy to have - even during those challenging early weeks.
I took Dermot to the doctor for a weigh-in on Thursday. He's already up a pound from where he was a week ago Wednesday when he went in for a well baby check. A week ago he was 8 lbs 12 oz (only a 7% loss, very normal, despite the fact it was nearly a pound off his birth weight). Thursday he was 9 lbs 12 oz.
There are some things I've been wanting to do while he's newborn - footprints for his scrapbook, take pictures of him in my belly cast, and pictures of him on my belly. I better do them darn quick or he'll be too big and no longer a newborn. The thought makes me sad. He's already growing up way too fast.
