At long last, the website is back in business. As it turns out, all I had to do was email our web host and they replaced one file and everything is in working order once more. I thought it was going to be more involved than that. But at least it's done now.
So, what've we been up to lately... hmm. In May we celebrated the marriage of my youngest sister Aileen and welcomed Brad into our family. We're now awaiting the birth of their first baby later this year. We can't wait!
Dermot continues to be a joy. He has two teeth, is working on two more, is sitting up beautifully, and is learning all about crawling. He can scoot around, and is learning that he can scoot deliberately to get something he wants. He's figuring out how to get on hands and knees, too. He's not quite as motivated as Gavin was to be mobile -- by this age Gavin was army crawling with a vengeance. But we're not complaining. Mobility changes everything!
Gavin loves Dermot. The two of them love to sit and laugh at each other. Gavin likes to play with his brother, although he is overexuberant sometimes and bowls the baby over with affection. But in general he's doing so much better than we expected. Perhaps we have our expectations set too low.
I missed registration for summer classes for Gavin. I had hoped to get him into swim lessons and maybe one other activity or class, but I didn't receive the bulletin for the community center and when I realized that and looked online, I found I had already missed the signup deadline. So now I'm waiting to hear if Gavin will get into the preschool I have signed him up for. He's waitlisted, and I have heard from other mamas of kids in the school that he could be accepted up to the day school starts. If he doesn't get in, we'll find some other classes to do.
